A short list of apps I find useful on macOS (including Hackintosh), by category: browser, player, clipboard, password manager, uninstall, system maintenance, screen recording, download. Updated as I use more.

Browser: Floorp

Floorp is a free, open-source browser based on Firefox and the Gecko engine. It keeps Firefox’s privacy and customization while adding workspaces, sidebars, vertical tabs, and workflow tweaks. floorp.app (MPL 2.0).

Media: IINA, etc.

  • IINA: Native macOS player, MPV-based, great for local video.
  • Motrix: Download manager (aria2), supports BT and HTTP(S).

Utilities

  • OnyX: System maintenance and tuning (caches, logs, permissions).
  • Kap: Simple screen recording (GIF/video), open source.
  • Maccy: Clipboard history.
  • KeePassXC: Password manager, cross-platform.
  • AppCleaner: Uninstall apps and remove leftovers.
